Day 14 of 60 – Week Two Progress!

This week was a bit of a challenge yet I persevered and am now down 12.5 lbs and 10 inches (yeaa!) Check out my progress here.

Homemade Pizza: dough made from locally milled wheat, sauce from our tomatoes, homemade Italian sausage, homegrown shiitake mushrooms, onion, yellow pepper, herbs put up from the garden and store bought mozzarella cheese.

First, Herb made homemade pizzas for he & Zac while I had my juice to sip on – I tell ya it was hard not to smack one of them and snatch that pizza out of their hands, but I did it – I resisted PIZZA!!!!!!

Then a few days later we went to my friend Susie’s for a Memorial Day cookout. She even made black bean burgers, but again I took my juice. This time I wasn’t much bothered by others eating – even when Susie brought out a chocolate cake that looked exactly like a Cheeseburger complete with lettuce (rolled out gummi mint leaves) and ketchup (raspberry sauce.) I let a few folks sample my juice and even the most skeptical admitted it tasted good.

The next day, we celebrated our friend Ann’s birthday as we always do, with luncheon at La Cocula. I brought my juice and wasn’t really bothered by the others eating. I got over bringing juice to restaurants during my last juice fest. As long as others order something they don’t even care, I’ve never had any even look at me funny – I’m sure most of them have seen stranger things!

I think resisting that pizza was a HUGE step. Ahhh and when I weighed and measured this morning it was worth it – sweet success!
